Case for Review
According to the information on the Symphony's website dealing with "Rental Information" in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the room size of the Laura Turner Concert Hall is 5,700 square feet (60' x 96'), and the total maximum capacity is 1,860.
One of the beauties of the symphony hall is that it can remove the comfortable seating, and house a 5,700 square foot hardwood floor. The ballroom floor itself can hold 400 persons at tables of 10, with up to 100 more for a reception.
If the Schermerhorn at a given event (including the need of the stage) can house 1,860 people, that in turn means that the State Residence (assuming it is between 11,000- 15,800 square feet), will be able to accommodate two to three times that many.
Is this really needed? And can Curtiswood handle that sort of traffic?
